The Retreat
Where Is The Retreat Held?
Good Hope Great House, Falmouth, Trelawny, Jamaica
(45 minutes away from Montego Bay airport)
Good Hope Estate is a 2000 acre historical property situated in the hills of Trelawny Parish. We’ll have the entire property to ourselves for the duration of the retreat. There are a number of paths and roads for walks and hikes, and many areas amenable to quiet reflection.
Is This Work Legal?
Yes. Psilocybin mushrooms are legal to work with in Jamaica. It is not legal for foreigners to bring psilocybin mushroom into Jamaica, and the mushrooms we work with are grown there and handled by the Jamaican members of our staff.
Will This Work Be Safe for Me?
Yes. We screen participants for medical and psychological risk factors as part of our intake process and do not offer the retreat to any parents for whom it would pose any kind of risk to their physical or mental health.
Is This Therapy?
No. Though our staff holds training in psychiatry and psychotherapy, the psychedelic at the retreat is not offered as psychedelic-assisted psychotherapy but rather as a group ritual experience which we believe can be profoundly helpful as a support for bereaved parents. We require that parents enrolled in the retreat also have ongoing support from a psychotherapist separate from our staff.
When is the next retreat?
April 27 - May 3, 2025 (Registration Open)
How many parents will be there?
We expect to have between 7 and 10 parents at the retreat.
How Much Does It Cost?
The cost of the program is based on a flexible fee model which we will discuss with you on our first phone call together. We aim to make this work available to anyone who needs it regardless of their resources.
